SFT UK Board meeting

Last weekend (3-4th December) the SFT UK board met for its annual Christmas board meeting. This year nine of us met for a weekend of planning and organising in Cambridge. With so many new groups appearing in the UK, we decided to develop the board to have more of a support role.

We said a sad farewell to Emilie Hunter, one of the founding members of SFT UK, who stood down from the board, however Alli Barnes was able to join the team which we are all really excited about. Emilie will still be involved in small projects and is taking a leading role in a legal action in the Spanish courts against former Chinese president Jiang Zemin. We were also Joined by Dhargyal from Tibetan Youth UK.

The weekend was a good chance to catch up after Hu Jintao's state visit and to continue planning our next actions. Spring plans include the SFTUK conference and action training at SOAS, and a speaking tour by former political prisoners.
